Toilet Chemicals and The Environment

Posted by rimawan21 under Home Improvement Tips

Our toilets are dumped (excuse the pun) for more reasons than our own waste. In our effort to create a hygienic environment, we often not only kills bacteria nasties, but beneficial organisms and poisons our waterways.

I began to believe that OM really neat bathroom not only should always be some bacteria must be destroyed, it must smell like a field of flowers and the need for water in the bowl is blue. It was just a psychological association did.
My mother was extremely proud of our house and cleaning the toilet was full cleaning of all types of drinks. My mother came from a good place fastidiousness – a desire for a clean and healthy environment for her family.

Toilet particular attention. What a breakthrough product in the market for keeping toilets clean look and smell, we bought it:). I continued this habit for several years, but I have learned, especially after owning Blackwater recycling system, which I really enjoy it. Actually, I was creating problems for the environment.
Many of the products are accompanied chlorine, ammonia and hydrochloric acid as ingredients, all of which are highly corrosive and life in the water valve to shorten. Moreover, while these agents to kill the bad bacteria they kill beneficial bacteria go through a system that can help break down our waste. Chlorine can react with other organic substances in the environment and the generation of hazardous substances such as dioxins and furans.
Another chemical that can be found in the toilet attendant products used primarily in chemical toilets for camping and RV is formaldehyde. Formaldehyde is carcinogenic in animals have also shown that mutations cause.
I examine a number of popular products toilet and found these other environmentally harmful substances:
Diethylene glycol monobutyl ether – volatile organic compounds that are harmful to aquatic organisms
Natriumdichloorisocyanuraat – very toxic to aquatic organisms – may cause long term damage to the environment can lead to
Chlorinated – circulatory and respiratory toxins
Triclosan – a cumulative toxin, used primarily for anti-bacterial activity, but can damage plants, animals and aquatic organisms.
Many of the descaling program ingredients in toilet cleaners are petroleum based, ie crude oil.

Often these substances are not removed treatment facilities.
The big problem with the identification of environmental toxins in your toilet is cleaner in many companies which are not mandatory for all parts of society. Some products may be tested on animals and in development.
Among chemicals, there is a plastics and packaging of these products, especially plastic boxes used in the rim blocks. Cells were used once then thrown away – multiply that by millions of people who use these products and this is a fair amount of non-biodegradable waste.
Green toilet cleaners
Good hygiene is important, but also with other aspects of modern life, trying to exaggerate and sterile environment in the average home is maintained, it is not possible or useful for that matter. Regardless of what the market can say, our attempts to disinfect the average home are useless and only help to create more errors and killing bacteria.
There are many land-friendly products already available on the basis of citric acid (eg orange oil) or acetic acid (vinegar), which deals with bacteria in the vicinity and then quickly to their potential harm to other organisms below- prevent system losses. These products certainly will not match the harsh chemicals. I used orange oil many times my contract cleaning days and it is just as effective as anything I’ve used.

Earth-friendly products toilet attendant will be more likely to list their ingredients for eco-savvy customer satisfaction, so check the label of “green” cleaner you are considering buying and do some research on the ingredients on the Internet.

If the label is unclear, call or write the company asking for clarification. Try products that use packaging made from recycled materials.
Environmentally friendly toilet attendant
One of the best ways to find a clean toilet with a little elbow grease – regular use of a toilet brush helps prevent accumulation of Gunk and ground for bad bacteria. It only takes a few seconds every day to make.
After one week, sprinkle baking soda into a bowl using a toilet scrubbing. In soda acts as an abrasive, without scratching the porcelain.
To treat stains, sprinkle baking soda in a bowl and then spray with vinegar. Allow to sit for awhile and then apply toilet brush – This method also helps eliminate odors.
To keep closet smelling fresh constantly, I’ve seen presented to 10 drops of tea tree oil in a spray bottle filled with water and then spray around the bowl and sit.
